Manifesting is the ability to intentionally create anything you want. A loving relationship. A business. Health. Work. Community. The possibilities are endless. The truth is, you can manifest anything.
It was more than 15 years ago that I had a dream of opening a retreat center. I was newly divorced. My savings had just been cut in half. I was alone. On an island.
My thoughts went something like this…
“I don’t know the first thing about running a retreat center. I can’t do this by myself. Besides, I’ll have to go back to school and take business classes. I don’t have money for that…”
You get the idea, right?
There are many wonderful references and courses for those seeking to learn how to manifest. Over the years in working with manifesting, I’ve learned a lot from my personal experience. For me, it boils down to a few key points.
1. Keep your sight on the desired outcome
What exactly is it that you would like to see in your life. Be specific. Spend some time meditating, visualizing and/or journaling about what you want.
It is a loving relationship? Close your eyes and focus on your inner eye with the intention to “see” yourself inside the relationship. Focus on your partner. How does it feel to be with them? Where are you? What are you doing together? What sounds do you hear? The more you can engage your 5 senses, the clearer your desired outcome will be.
When your outcome is clear, it is easier to keep it in focus.
2. Release the Blockages
Some people can easily speak of their wants, dreams and desires. However, even in the moment they are speaking the words, the thought is right there…”Oh, but I can’t possibly have that.“
Do any of these sound familiar?
- I just haven’t found the right person to do that with yet. I’m waiting for the right partner to stand beside me.
- I am not financially where I want to be, so I won’t be able to accomplish that right now.
- I don’t have the job I want because I don’t have the education to get it.
Negative thoughts can stop you before you even get started.
The truth is, you don’t need another person to empower you to go after your dreams. You have divine access to everything you need. Keep reading to see my FAVORITE practice to eliminate negative thoughts.
A few more blockages we need to release:
- Someone told you that you don’t deserve it.
- Past experience or childhood trauma that leaves you feeling unworthy.
- Fear of failure.
- Fear of success.
- Someday thinking.
I’ve had students share with me their deepest desire is to find a loving life partner. At the same time, the self-talk they have around their body image is, “when I lose XXX-pounds, then I can call that person in.” Or, “I have to have the right job or the right amount of money in the bank. Then I’ll be worthy of love.”
All the energy being put towards thinking about all of the blockages is the very thing that keeps us from creating what we want.
We must release the blockages to truly envision the path to manifesting our dreams.
3. Take Action
After listing the reasons why I couldn’t have a retreat center, I decided to be done with that way of thinking. I began to tell people all of the reasons why I did deserve my dream.
I listed the reasons why I shouldn’t be thinking of all the things that could hold me back. I stated clearly that I would have the financial backing I needed. I truly believed I could have it.
Of course, that money flowed in.
It’s not just me. One of my students came to Ho’omana. She felt empowered and inspired by what we had created here. She dreamed of owning her own retreat center back home.
However, when she got back home she allowed the negative thoughts, “Oh, there’s no way I could possibly manifest this” She even sank into a bit of a depression.
In the end, she decided to let go of the thoughts and take action.
And that’s when the miracle started…
She wrote a Facebook post and shared her dream.
She told her community that a retreat center had just come on the market. She described what she wanted to do with it.
“Does anybody have anything extra lying around that they would want to use to help invest in this really amazing project that I’m doing? Of course, it will come with agreements and payback and even interest, but the moment is now. Is anybody willing to jump on this with me?”
In a week or so, she had all the money that she needed and she is now in her third year of business!
So what happens when we release those blocks? How do we even identify that we’re the ones that are standing in the way of manifesting that thing?
My Favorite Exercise to Manifest Anything
Ruth Kramer, one of my mentors, shared with me an incredible exercise to eliminate negative thinking and speed up the Manifesting process:
- Envision the Dream
- Write down the first five things that pop into your mind. It doesn’t matter what they are. They might sound crazy or far-fetched. Write them down.
- If you find something that is not in alignment with what you are wanting to bring in, flip the script. For example, instead of saying, “I don’t know how I am ever going to make enough money to really call that in,” say, “Abundance flows to me in miraculous ways, so that I can reach my financial goal.”
Turn blockages into affirmations. Flip the Script.
We don’t need to block negative thinking. We transform thoughts that are not in alignment by turning them into an affirmation.
Be specific. State how and why you’re going to be able to attain the thing you desire.
Put your mana, your personal power, towards having each thought aligned with your goal. Continue the practice until every single one of the first thoughts that pop into your mind are in alignment.
I promise, you’ll find the thing that you want to bring in is not out of reach at all.
Eliminate phrases like, “I hope one day I can have this.” Speak as if it is happening right now. If you’ve dreamt it in your mind, it already exists.
“I am a retreat owner. I have everything I need to make this happen. The universe is supporting this happening and so it is.”
I’d love to know…what are you ready to Manifest in your life?
I read every comment and would love to join your intention.
